Whitecourt Wolverines | 2022 Elite Spring Development Camp

Camp Details:

The camp will run for 16 ice sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at River Cree Arenas commencing on June 21, 2022. This highly competitive development camp is designed for athletes who want to take their individual training to the next level in preparation for the 2022/2023 hockey season. The athletes will be placed in two groups with a maximum of 20 players participating in each 1-hour ice time. The instructor to participant ratio will be 1:6 for a focused commitment to skill development and improvement. The one-hour ice times will focus on, but not exclusively to, the following:

• Explosive skating techniques to improve power, stride and edge work
• Dynamic shooting techniques to improve shot power and quick release
• Proper passing techniques including mechanics and game situational awareness
• Stickhandling techniques including proper body position and puck protection
• Position specific instruction
• Battle and compete drills to aid in proper body positioning and protection
• Small area games to simulate real game situations encompassing camp instruction of skills.

All sessions will be held at the River Cree Twin Rinks

Session 1: Elite 2009 - 2007 (Birth Years) 5:15pm-6:15pm Tuesday - Thursday

Session 2: Elite 2006 - 2002 (Birth Years) 6:30pm-7:30pm Tuesday - Thursday

Dates: June 21, 23, 28, 30, July 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28, August 2, 4, 9, 11

The cost for the Wolverines Elite Spring Development Program is $750, applicants should be currently playing AEHL AAA, NAHL AA or the HSLPrep/AAA level to be considered.
